Posted March 1, 2015 Hello, I have saved up 2,500.00 to buy my first top end gaming computer and want to reach ultra graphics 1080p and 144 FPS on most if not all decently optimized games..I was thinking 2 970 sli, i7 4790k 4.0 to 4.4 turbo, SSD, and 8gb ram.. What do you think?* help would be appreciated. ** realistically i would like to see 120+ fps at all times if possible.
 Posted March 1, 2015 Is it possible for you to wait until Q2 (June-ish time) to build it? There's supposed to be some bad ass GPUs coming then. I certainly don't recommend SLI 970s. If you absolutely need a 970 then just buy one at first. Don't go straight to SLI. Posted March 1, 2015 Author Well i'm trying to get a nice set-up before GTA 5 comes out.. Would love to get a full 120+ fps for my 144hz monitor with GSYNC by then..
Posted March 1, 2015 Also, please don't repost. I think it will hold up to a decent enough FPS, though like said above wait till Q2, and *hopefully* the good GPUs will come. I can make a quick pcpartpicker list if you want containing the items. Edit: in that case if you reallyyy want it before GTA V, Then yah.. Though still imo i would wait till the new GPUs. Or at least get a simple machine that can run GTA V for a while and then get a new Gpu and sell your old GPU to help get that money back for the new one. Or something. Posted March 1, 2015 Even though the 970 is pretty beast. Something in me still says it won't remain +120 fps at all times. We'll have to see how the game runs. But ya wait a bit my dude, there be some great GPUs on the horizon! - Fresher than a fruit salad.
