That's the one I own. This might be a dumb question but I emailed AMD for the warranty on it but they said they don't make any GPU's but only make the chips and 3rd party make the rest of it soooooo I'm lost now any help? All it says on it is Radeon and AMD on it

Probably Sapphire.

Maybe you can find some sticker or so on the card where you can see the brand.

Have you specified that is a reference design?

And how long ago did you buy it? If it is less than 2 years, try to get back to the store where you bought it.

If you buy a reference card then you should send it to a retailer for warranty (remember to check any sticker which consist of a name)

It has no warranty. This is the example of "grey OEM" market.

When AMD makes a new GPU, they only design the chip and reference board. They then contract one of the large electronic consortiums, I believe TSMC, but I might be wrong - not that its relevant - to produce a batch of reference-design GPU. Some of these GPU will be given to engineers, partnered software devs, reviewers. Large chuck of these goes to their partners - Asus, Sapphire and such - where they will be branded with partner name and sold as "reference designs". They do it so that there will be some product presence on the market untill partners get their customs done and out there.

Now, sometimes, in fact usually, there will be "leftovers" from these reference batches. Maybe change in plans by partners, resulting from the fact that they already developed their custom PCB and ready to make and sell now. Some software developers going out of business. Maybe even some of the...lets call it...cash strapped folk who recieved a shipment of these GPU for use will go and sell them instead of using them. Or usually they just order a larger quantity than they need, accounting for average fault rates of manufacturing plant. Lots of ways it can end on ebay, amazon and other places.

The biggest issue is - that unless they were officially meant for consumer market - branded by recognised AMD partner and sold as ASUS, MSI (or other)  branded product - they carry NO WARRANTY.

That GPU you have appears to be sold by Compeve - one of the retailer stores that deal mostly with these "sort of OEM" products.

As per the shop - warranty is 30 days. Which makes sense, because they have to repair damage and RMA at their own expense, since there is no such thing as manufacturer warranty for these cards.

What about the Nvidia ones? Is it EVGA?

I think PNY also makes Nvidia graphics cards with reference design. If you are taking about chips it is TSMC

Indeed, happens on rare occassions. Mostly, cards aimed at professional markets, and sometimes batches of cards meant for OEM PC builders like Dell. I saw a 765 Ti once, in plain package. Also, warranty can be issued by the retailer/seller. Like with Compeve - 30 day warranty.
