Okay i know this may start an argument but its a single civilized question! i have one question! Okay so with the multiple part episodes why cant you release them a day after one another? Because surely if you enjoy  you will watch the next one and so on and not have to wait a week! so i personally cant see what your gaining by uploading them a week after first release! I don't agree with it therefor i don't watch any videos that start with 1,1a,1b,1c,2... you get the idea. because whats the point? whats worse is when they are 12 minutes long!!!! just so i state this. i totally agree with Linus with the multi part videos because of money and all i have no problem with that its the waiting a week! What are your opinions with this?

also @LinusTech and  @Slick what are you reasons behind a week before a new video!

This is not ment to cause debate i would like an answer, im not a troll im not trying to annoy anyone, i would just like an answer.

~~James

because look at the quality of their videos compared to a year ago. that takes time to do. plus people asked for more channels, which means more content, all that takes time.

you cant just slap togeather that level of a video in one day.

Like for the junkyard videos, they spend the day out doing it. then they get back, and can only do so much editing then. you have to remember when they are out doing that, thats atleast 4 people out of the office. almost the whole crew. then theres other content they are working on, let alone writing scripts, other films, other channels,

LET alone running a business. if they could pump out videos faster they would. they dont do it just to annoy people. because more videos=more money

This has been answered many times before.

Basically, these videos take a long time to edit, so one person works on it and they release the videos when they're ready.

well they shouldent tease everyone it should be made before hand.. then released

I would think that in order to edit the videos and get them ready to send out to people it would take a while, also since they do only one video a day, people could get upset that they were not doing any other hardware or other pc videos.

Why not?

Hyping is a very effective method, especially when it's trustworthy.

well yeah they can hype like a day before the series gets released then again not 2 weeks before it

Yeah, but it gives us something to look forward to for, say, the next week.

but from hype to series finish its a month and really you get maybe what? 40 minutes of content

You'd wait a week for a new episode of a TV show and a good portion of those are completely filmed and edited before the show schedule begins. No difference here.

what TV shows last 12 minutes.... i understand editing time but come on 12 minutes.... really?

You don't know how long it takes to make a video. Especially with multiple POVs.

oh i do lets say what 20 minuites of film multiple pov's would probably take you what 8-9 hours to edit....

It's not because they have a schedule of videos that they need to show at specific times? I would imagine they have to show <Advertisement 1> a certain amount of times per week/month/whatever, or they have to release a video on <Product 1> before another video since they're under contract to do so.

Or something.

Maybe.

Possibly.

yes but for example scrap yard challenge comes out on Saturday, at the same time. so it is planned on release time! when it is completed i do not know but i cant imagine  them completing editing a video 5 hours before release

Tv shows also have whole teams working on them at a time, not just one person

i understand that but there are other people in teh office you know, and how come some are 20 minuites some are less... they are trying to squeeze it into as long period of time as possible!

8-9 hours good joke

They have much more than 20 minutes of film to edit, there will be hours of film to cut out of an episode like this, plus specifically for scrapyard wars there are concerns like censoring faces which take extra time to edit plus check and recheck to make sure you're completely safe because that's something you don't want to mess up.

On top of 8-9 hours being an underestimate for editing time, they also upload a video of similar or higher quality and only slightly shorter length every single day without fail for years. Not to mention uploading one or two (not sure exactly on the schedule) videos a week for Tech Quickie and a video a week (I think) for Channel Super Fun. All this has to be done with I think 3 or 4 editors of which any multiple of them might also be hosting a video or researching sponsor deals or benchmarking or anything else that the business needs. You have no real idea of how much time goes into running the business that doesn't include just making videos.

i understand that but there are other people in teh office you know, and how come some are 20 minuites some are less... they are trying to squeeze it into as long period of time as possible!

"other people", as in like maybe 4 editors who are also busy working on the other videos they upload literally every day or more if you include all their channels. You might have a whole team of editors working on a single episode of a TV show for a week before it airs. At LTT you have 1 editor editing 1 video as fast as possible whilst still hitting quality targets to make sure they hit their one or more videos per day goal. Get some sense of perspective before you try to comment on their business practices.

The linus chan on utube is kinda of a mess...if you wanna find something - multi part or not its gonna take some time sifting through all the vids.

I have no idea how that can be sorted out...maybe by making longer/better vids in the future ? How about more interactive approch - not just Linus talking and making small jokes.

Why on earth would you be searching manually through someone's channel, especially if they have over a thousand videos? Search "product name linus tech tips" on youtube and you'll find literally any review Linus has uploaded.

I personally don't care at all about multi part videos. I watch airing anime so I'm already waiting a week between episodes for three shows right now. If you don't want to wait between episodes wait for them all to be released. Another suggestion is donating to LMG to help them move and hire more people. We keep on complaining about free content...
