Nope, the entire comment section is hidden, except maybe for older videos. Some of them have disabled replies.

TB realized what other YouTubers have, its easier to just can the comments entirely than it is to try and moderate them and keep things clean.

Reddit might turn into a bit of a echo chamber, but they self moderate fairly well. Shitty comments and outright flaming will get buried quick, any good discussion will rocket to the top; in that regard I think Reddit is just fine for having discussion. Certainly 10902134910943201324 times better than whatever YouTube will ever have, thats for damn sure.

Probably because youtube comments are, generally speaking, the worst thing on the internet ever. Worse than child porn, drugs, and to quote codemonkeys, "nuclear mad scientists, with aids, raping babies".

Even worse than Comcast.

I agree with Dale

Except people can still say the same things they would on youtube on reddit. He's just moving idiots to reddit instead of youtube

And again, reddit comment can be voted down and made invisible by default.

It's just a better structure.

Anyone who does not have a sister hates the fact that Kasugano Sora isn't his sister.

And what if that comment that is made invisible is some sort of criticism that TB could find valuable? I don't like it, it basically stifles people who aren't with the majority

Well, first it's a better alternative to completely blocking comments altogether. And second, I think that as long as someone is constructive (listing something that TB might have missed) and not "omg retard fanbois, this video is dumb" I don't think it will be down voted that heavily.

Then you can click the comment and see it.

You don't like it? It's like you don't want to cross a road because you might get hit by a car.

You are also assuming the majority is immature enough to downvote a comment for simply having different opinion.

Some certain idiots, without any proof, will tell you it is that way, of course.

Except this is the internet. We can't even have a thread on this forum about the GTX 970 without it getting locked, do you think people are going to think rationally about criticism of their favorite youtuber?

The problem is the comment is hidden and buried in the first place.

No, that's not a problem.

You can see a "hidden comment" with only the content hidden and you can click it to see it.

If you truly believe someone's different opinion has been downvoted/hidden, you will click on it and you will be disappointed.

Good comments get buried on YouTube too. I just think Reddit is a superior alternative for his audience. I don't even comment anyways and don't read them either. I come to TB's channel for TB, not really the comments criticizing TB for his opinions. He doesn't take requests either, so aside from a comment being "You forgot to mention the fact that X" I don't really see how it would be too much of an issue overseeing comments on Reddit.
