My First Build EVER!

AStateOfTrance

Hey guys,

This is my first PC build ever. Throughout the years I've been a console gamer, I don't know what got into me but one morning i woke up and said screw it I want to build a PC....greatest decision I've ever made in my life. I build this PC following Linus's build videos on YouTube. Let me know what you guys think of the build and what I could have done better.

-Intel Core i7 4790K 4.4Ghz

Ok this might be a stupid question but I just realized I forgot to install the I/O shield while building...I really dont feel like taking out the motherboard all over again to put it in. Is it necessary?

EDIT: Returned the PSU for a EVGA 850 G and returned the monitor for a Asus PB278Q. My 2 980's we're a waste on just 1080p

That's quite the beastly build. Very nice! :)

You may want to check the direction your fans are blowing on the Noctua cooler. The rear fan on the cooler looks like it's blowing towards the front of the case which will conflict with the exhaust fan right behind it trying to blow the other way. ;)

As a rule of thumb, you should have all case fans flowing in through the front and out through the rear/top and your CPU cooler fan should flow in that same direction for the best efficiency and temps.

There should be arrows on the fans that tell you which way they blow. If not, just look for which ever side has the motor support structures - that's the side they blow out of. ;)

Just flip the fans around on the the cooler. Don't need to turn the whole cooler around. ;)

Have you tried running games in 4k DSR? You definitely have the system for it.
