But seriously, What can we do to fight it?

 

 

Sorry for not being clear. I'm talking specifically about their new policy where they want nearly half(45%) of the ad revenue that content creators are 100% responsible for.

 

 

PS: sorry about the "Gate" thing, but ever since Nixon, nothing has gotten peoples attention faster or better. True Story.

Download adblocking software it'll block the ads for free. I use it and have never had to watch a single ad....

On the flipside, remember that this completely cuts off monetary support of the content producer from ad revenue. Just putting it out there.

Adblock on a massive scale, bombard them with emails to the point where it starts to look like a DDoS attack, stop using their services as much as possible (I find ixquick better anyway).

When they start taking massive financial hits, they'll rethink their strategy.

Also, if content creators switch to another platform, Google gets none of the Ad(non)sense anymore, which hurts them even more.

I know the adblock also affects content creators, but I'm more than willing to donate to make up for that.

Content producers probably have a greater voice then the viewers. I'm pretty sure if pewdiepie's revenues got cut in half, Google would do something to help him (revert back to the older ad system).

That is true but ads are annoying as hell to me so I use it. It might be different if I wasn't already being forced to pay $95 a month for .25 mbps down and .21 mbps up all because of a contract Hughesnet has with the state of Florida for the 15 square mile area that I live in. So if I have to watch ads it takes 3-5 minutes for it to buffer that one 30 second ad which adds to my frustration when I just want to watch a 5 minute video. How I see it if Google wants me to either watch ads or pay for their premium service they need to put Google fiber in my area, then I'll gladly watch all the ads they want me to or pay whatever the cost of their service is.

Lol you guys make Google look like the devil, while they offer a great value proposition imho. They offer you time-saving in exchange for some money, as a subscription model. This is OPTIONAL, we're not looking at another G+ here... I for one welcome this feature, although I probably won't be using it, but I see how it can be useful for some people. <OPINION> And users of ad-block are just dicks imho... I really do not see a difference between pirates (I am one and I say it, I am being a dick too) and ad-block users...</OPINION>

And you exoect to di that on the Website that is the center od entertainment? It will be like a fly on their feet
