Ubisoft has only recently started being so ignant with their practices. Far Cry 3 was great fun with one of the best villains in a video game.

Not really, Ubisoft started digging with uplay, than with the bazillion Ezio games, and abandoning their niche strategy games (Anno and Settlers, I'm still mad Anno Online exists).  Anyway point is, Ubisoft has always been a slimy company, it's just these last few years it's showing a lot more.

I had fun with it. The story isn't anything special. There is only one fun character that you interact around half the game and then you don't interact with him anymore.

I like that you can be almost max upgraded by the second half of the game so you can go all out with all the abilities and guns that you have. Too many games give up all your stuff right at the end of the game and don't let you have fun with them.

There is a lot of doing the same thing over and over again. If you like it then good if not then the first half is the better half anyway and you can stop after that.

It uses Uplay and this was the game that I decided to boycott all Ubisoft games that use Uplay since it was down quite a lot when I tried to play the game.

And if you don't care for the setting or you like 80's si-fi action move setting more then just get Blood Dragon. I found that it was just the perfect length for that type of game. It was more focused and more fun then FC3. And if you like the gameplay and want more then get FC3.

I dont like farcry games. I've tried to but I just don't. they're so boring, go here kill that, go there collect that, do this do that. after the first hour every mission is the same just constructed slightly differently.

if you do decide to get it make sure you get a steam version and not a uplay.. as uplay downloads at about 10% the speed I get on steam!

To add to this, the DRM in Anno 2070 several years ago was so intrusive that tech review sites were breaking their licenses when they swapped out video cards. It was registering that as a "new install." The recent troubles with Ubisoft aren't really all that surprising if you've been paying attention for long enough.

Far Cry 3 is a fine game, though it's mechanically identical or possibly slightly worse than Far Cry 4. I haven't played Far Cry 4, but I found FC3's story and characters so insufferable that I'd probably opt for 4 if I had the choice.
