ANVIL is a sponsored build I'm working on for Altex Computers & Electronics (retailer w/stores in Texas as well as online) w/motherboard and video card coming from ASUS, and cooling components coming in from EKWB for their EK-Vulture Mod-Off that'll be running through April.

attachicon.gif10984174_806420232745343_1300971713850018772_o.jpg

Being a newcomer to the scene (having done numerous builds for myself and friends over the years as a hobby), I'm surprised at how quickly things escalated with me doing sponsored builds, and I appreciate how welcoming the community has been. I hope to stick around and hopefully help people get inspiration for their future builds.

So here's the general idea so far:

The ANVIL is going to be a metallic weapon of destruction that hints at the true power it hides within its core. So a theme of worn metallic panels w/ominous orange breathing light leaking between the panels' openings on the outside, and lots of metallic surfaces w/orange accents on the inside components.

CASE: EK-Vulture mini-ITX case by EKWB (serial# 8 of 50)

CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K

MB: ASUS Maximus VII Impact

RAM: 8GB (2 x 4) AVEXIR Core Series DDR3 1600Mhz RAM (Orange LED) - Working on options for 16GB for the build.

GPU: ASUS GTX STRIX 980

SSD's: 2x Intel 730 Series OR 2x Samsung 840 EVO's - still up in the air

PSU: Cougar CMX V3 1000W

The components for the cooling loop are still up in the air and once I've finalized a list more or less, I'll update this post. For now though, here are a few images of the case to show that we at least have that in our possession.

As well as what I expect for the final build.. ;)

Looks cool. More pics?

Any particular shots of the case you'd like to see? I plan on uploading more pics as components come in for the build so stay tuned. :)

Update time! We're working on getting the case cut and painted over the next week. Still finalizing the parts list for the custom loop, but we're getting there! In the mean time here are a couple shots of most of the hardware we plan to use as well as a motherboard test fit. smile.gif

Ah! Forgot a thing. Here are diagrams of the sort of cuts we're getting done to the sides of the case. Still working out the practicality of making these cuts and how it'll impact the sturdiness of the case, but it should give an idea for what we've got planned. :)

I'm pretty sure EK brought a fully-loaded EK-Vulture to PAX East, I'd check their FB page to see if they have pics.

The only picture of it that survived my sdcard corruption:

Update time. Who wants to see a cut up EK-Vulture? I do! We'll be stripping it down to bare metal and likely get started painting sometime over the weekend. Acrylic should be coming in this week for the lighting. :)

Going to paint the front panel and the hard drive cage (part with "ANVIL" cut out) to match as close as possible with the aluminum. We're also giving our 360mm radiator the same treatment. :)

A few new pictures, our Avexir DDR3-1600mhz kit w/orange LEDs came in and looks absolutely stellar. Avexir makes some pretty awesome-looking RAM and I actually have a 16GB kit of DDR4 w/red LEDs in my personal X99 machine.

Also painted our Vardar F1's and part of the Vulture's front panel to match the bare metal look we've got going on. :)
