Why is GPUBoss frowned upon?

It seems to be biased as hell, half the reasons things "beat" other things on there are irrelevant reasons lol.

They are really fucking biased. Like, huge Nvidia fanboys... And CPUBoss is the same towards Intel too...

I just use AnandTech's Benchmark section.

Because an automated system can never decide something as nuanced as this. Besides the fact that a lot of its information just isn't correct, so its assessments can never be.

 

You're always much better off looking at online benchmark results for the games you want to plat, at the resolution and graphics settings you want to play at, then comparing a range of GPUs across AMD and Nvidia, and between their different budget ranges. Use real world figures to determine which GPU is best, not specs. Especially if you're comparing specs across different architectures and between AMD and Nvidia.

It's so blatantly, almost comically nvidia biased that there is speculation nvidia is connected to the website in some way.

It actually has the gtx 780 ti beating the 295x2. It's laughable.

Imagine a site that compares books based on number of pages, font size or number of chapters rather than how well it is written, that is GPUboss

I have been using GPUBoss for a while now to compare graphics cards but I recently saw in another thread that people thought the site is garbage. Why is this and what website could I use instead to quickly compare card performance? 

 

For the same reason you cant state which car is fastest on a track when only comparing horse power....

 

GPUboss compares performance stats such as pixel fill rate and power consumption and compares them via these only, it very rarley has fair or comparable synthetic or ingame benchmarks.

I'm really sad that people use GPUboss. Had someone be insistant that he gets a 760 or a 750ti over a 280/280x. Because it would run minecraft "better."

 

He also said "720p is fine."
