Best microphone headphone setup(Under $350, if you can help it)

AmbellinaThePrise

I'm not really an audiophile of any sort, but I do hate bad sound quality, that's for sure. My initial idea was that I was going to buy a Razer Kraken headset as a "hold over" until I could afford a respectable mic and headphone setup for content creation and gaming. But I trimmed the fat on my build and only went with what I really need, as opposed to what I wanted. And after seeing a good number of people maintaining the notion that these "gaming" headsets are just all around not good, and a good mic and headphone deal is the way to go, do you all have any suggestions?

Thanks!

SNIP

if you want the best headset - Beyerdynamics MMX 300 - has an amazing mic too

Or, get a Rode Podcaster/Procaster mic, and a decent set of headphones with the rest of the money

Get the beyerdynamic DT990 if you like agressive sound (sharp highs-strong bass) and the Audio Technica 2020 mic or the blue yeti. ( i prefer the Audio Technica)
Also, you can check out some other beyerdynamic headphones like the DT770 if you want closed back headphones with strong & deep bass and excellent isolation, or check out the DT880 if you like a more lean-flat sounding headphone.

If you like a relaxing sound, check some sennheiser headphones like the HD558/598 or the HD600 & HD650 (don't know if you can find those at that low price).
Finally, check out some AKG headphones like the 7XX from massdrop if that's an option and the Audio Technica AD900X if you like lean-sounding headphones with excellent soundstage.

Blue Snowball is all anyone needs. Add a cheap boom and you're looking at sub-$300 cans.

For closed, isolating headphones, I recommend the NAD Viso HP50. For open, Philips Fidelio X1 (or X2 if you can swing it).

One of the best mic-headset combo in that prise range is G4ME Zero/One.

Zero for closes headset (almost no outside noice), One for open headset design.

One is $249.95 http://en-us.sennheiser.com/g4me-one

Zero is $279.95 http://en-us.sennheiser.com/g4me-zero

Over priced. Only smart if they get under $200.

Yes, its a premium headset, but you get what you pay for.

No. That is the exact opposite of what I am saying.

They're essentially a 500 series and HD 380 with a Mic. A niceish Mic, sure, but still prone to the issues of cheaper headsets.

Blue Microphones Snowball and Beyerdynamic dt line. The dt line are extremely comfortable.

PC Audio Setup = Beyerdynamic DT 770 pro 80 ohm and Sennheiser pc37x (also for xbox) hooked up to Schiit Fulla 3
