What frame rate do you think a 3930k and a 780 would get in minecraft?

it used to lag with good graphics

with opengl update it started to work great

I'm just curious and I'm building a rig with a 3930k and a 780 (not just for minecraft of course)

So what was the point asking the question?  A 3930k and 780 will easily get way above that.

I suggest Minecraft becomes the new standard benchmark for high end gaming PCs. 

Rig: CPU: 1x quad core potato(4.6GHz). Cooling: Iced Tea. GPU: AMD HDToaster. Motherboard: Asus "Stale Bread Extreme Edition". RAM: 2x 4GB sticks of 1600MHz celery. PSU: 650w Roborovski Hamster in wheel.  Storage: Many Floppy Disks.

i get 118 average on my 6770 and a phenom II x4, so I think you are fine.

Even if it did, you'd need a 900Hz monitor to actually see the difference. Assuming the human eye can even see something that fast, which it probably can't.

Anything above 60/120 is pointless, since 60/120Hz monitors are pretty common.

Some insane amount of FPS that you will never see a lag spike in your life again.
