Hey y'all -

I no longer need my Crucial 512GB SSD, so I was looking into wiping it. I've already reformatted it, but would it be adviseable to write over the data as is done on a normal hard drive for data assassination?

Thanks.

I would say wipe it, write random data on it and wipe it again... But I'm not sure if it is advised to do this with SSD's too

That's my issue. I know this is fine for HDD's, but is it okay to do with SSD's?

I would strongly suggest against writing random data to your SSD, and instead follow this: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/securely-erase-ssd-without-destroying/
