Gaming On a GTX 980m Imac 27 Inch

Charlie Clarke

http://store.apple.com/us/buy-mac/imac?product=ME089LL/A&step=config#

If you selected 32gb of ram the gtx 980m and 1tb flash storage, with a half n half dual boot of windows 8 and proper keyboard and mouse, would this be perfect mix between video editing and power? (not price though)

PS - sorry 780m

PPS - Linus just posted a video of the gaming experience on his imac 5k

You got some balls for asking that question here. :P In all seriousness, i would personally build a editing/gaming rig instead. If you really want the design and features of the imac, and are prepared to pay the extra premium, go ahead :D

It would be decent, but it's too bad that they only offer 700m-series graphics not 900m-series graphics. The iMac are great for video editing, though, you could build a basic X99 editing rig for about the same.

My arsenal: i7-9700k Gaming Rig, an iPhone, and Stupidity.

I wasnt thinking of getting this, i was just looking at what a fully specced imac would cost/have in it and linus posted a video of his imac with windows on instagram

With all the most expensive options you would be spending almost 9000 dollars (that ode include a 1TB SSD and a 4GB 780M)

$3,000 would get you more than a basic editing rig wouldnt it?

That's a relief. There's no denying that iMacs look sweet, but their cooling sucks ass and the hardware just isn't up to spec with the new stuff. Their trash can Mac Pros have already been outdated a couple of times.

Not to mention that it's a PCI-E-based SSD, which'll set you back about $1,000 on its own.

Wrong one. That one maxes out at $4,400, which is even more ridiculous. We were talking about the 780m version.
