Hello I recently found out that the Titan Z isn't just a upgraded version of the titan but rather a card with 2 GPUs in it. And I also found out you could run 2 titan z's in sli for quad sli but what is stopping you from running 4 titan z's in octo sli for monster performance?

CPU: some amd thing Motherboard: its black RAM: its memory thats for sure GPU: r7 260x Case: corsair spec 01 Storage: 1tb of it PSU: 430w, so many watts

Display: its asus Cooling: fans Keyboard: logitech g710+ #browns4lyfe Mouse: its a logitech Sound: its what you hear Operating System: winders

SLI only supports 4 GPUs. Although you can run 8 GPUs at once, they just won't work together in SLI.

Drivers won't work.

 

How does that work?

Two will work like normal, and I'd imagine the other two will sit dormant.

How does that work?

Well, you get a bunch of risers, and slap in as many GPUs as you can. While you won't be able to use them all in SLI, you could use all 8 of them for something like science computing (FAH, BOINC). Those can take advantage of 8 cards.

 

And I'm pretty sure there are some other random obscure programs out there that can make use of multiple cards as well, but I don't know any.

Because it's not possible to run more than 4 cards yet nor would there be a performance increase to care about.

 

Long ago someone had 4 7950GX2's (oh the memories) running in SLI and i believe he tweaked the drivers or something to make it work, just for the sake of it
