I know, he went full retard, doesn't matter. He is getting some GTX 980's in the middle of the year, or 990 if they come out. I think I will just buy it off him, put it in my travel build

I've got a gtx 980 with an i7-4790K. Doesn't sound unbalanced at all until you realize that I'm on Z97 (so there's no way I'll be running Quad SLI anytime soon) and have a corsair AX1500i for my PSU. On the bright side, I never have to worry about having enough juice to power my rig in the future... like ever :D

A 4570 is just a downclocked and locked i5-4690k, the bottleneck can't be that bad if it even exists.

Plus, DayZ is just a poorly optimized game. It's like all of the developers run an i7-5820k and GTX 980 SLI based rig.

whats wrong with Z97? you can 4-way SLI/CFX on Z97 boards. im pretty sure under 20ish% load on the PSU that 80+ titanium rating is thrown out the window

the 4790k is better than the x99 cpus for gaming because of higher clock speed and turbo.

x99 for gaming is stupid.

Not really, GTX 660 is still a $250 in Australia, plus it has plenty of power

Generally you cannot 4-way SLI on Z97. Only on very few boards that have a PLX chip. All others - 2-way SLI max it is. (The "Quad-SLI" you read on some boards  actually means two dual-GPU cards... like GTX690s).

And I think he was about that 1500W PSU being quite overpowered for such a Z97 build (4790K plus max of 2 graphics cards - especially for GTX900 series cards).

Mine isn't that bad, unless I play CPU intensive games like Crysis 3. Then, I just turn down the settings and it's fine.

“It would seem that Our Lord finds our desires not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased.”
