canadianultra

Hey Guys,

I'm going to be buying an SSD tomorrow, I will buy it in store, so I will either go to NCIX or Canada Computers, can anyone recommend me a good one?

Size: ~250Gb

Price: does not matter, but has to be worth the cost

use: main storage device of gaming rig

main storage for gaming... So 5 games?  How about giving a price max, and letting people suggest from there?

THIS IS MY SUPER TEENY TINY SIGNATURE!

Ain't it just the cutest little signature.

Some would argue it is the cutest little signature ever.

This one m8 http://www.ncix.com/detail/crucial-mx100-256gb-sata-6gbps-a6-97624.htm

10/10 would buy 10 more because it's awesome. One of the fastest SSD's on the market in terms of random read/write and is cheaper from NCIX.CA than 840 Evo (my other general recommendation).

Whatever you decide to go with though, DO NOT BUY THE KINGSTON V300!!!!!! They swapped the flash out to garbage and it performs horribly now.

RIP in pepperonis m8s

GTA 5         = 65GB

UC unity      = 50GB

the crew      = 30GB

Battlefield 4 = 30GB

*lists another game in the 30GB+ range*

May not be exact 5, but it wont be many...

Yeah, there are large games, but a 250gb drive is a great drive for gaming.

There's no point in installing all those drives onto you're drive at once.

I used a 250gb for a boot drive + gaming for months and it's perfectly viable.

Take a look at the Crucial M550. Crucial's blowing them out and the pricing is lower than the MX100!!!!. Cruise TigerDirect to see if they have any.

Sir William of Orange: Corsair 230T - Rebel Orange, 4690K, GA-97X SOC, 16gb Dom Plats 1866C9,  2 MX100 256gb, Seagate 2tb Desktop, EVGA Supernova 750-G2, Be Quiet! Dark Rock 3, DK 9008 keyboard, Pioneer BR drive. Yeah, on board graphics - deal with it!

Invest in a higher capacity drive. A 500 GB 840 evo will be worth it down the line,
