GPU needed. Maybe ditch the OS if he already has a copy?

Nothing...as in no monitors/peripherals as well? If she also needs a monitor and mouse/keyboard in addition to windows, then $400 really isn't a realistic budget....$470~ would be the least I would spend: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/9ZLHQ7

If the only game being played is league I'd rather have a stronger cpu with no gpu.

And if she has no interest in doing any real multi-tasking (or other gaming), then a G3258 might be an even better choice due to budget constraints.

I'm also assuming she doesn't have a copy.

She does not have a keyboard, mouse, or monitor (I have a 20 inch vga one she could use for now I suppose). She will need windows. I'm lookin at the build he posted right now. You think the i3 with no Gpu is fine for league? The only other thing she does on the computer is browse facebook and browse tumblr.

I do think the ssd is a better choice tmlhalo. No way she is gonna fill up a 1TB HDD.

For 400 it's not going to happen, I'm sorry. She needs to save up a bit more for needing all 3.

Either go for an AMD if you wanna OC or just want something cheap. Or go for the i3 4130 for a lot of features.

GPU is anything like a r7 260 or gtx 750

MOBO, well, depends is you want a mATX, or ATX.

PSU has to have at least 80+ certified (my extreme recommendation is to get one with bronze) and something with 450W to 500W

HDD 1TB WD Black OR 120GB Kingston SSD (then later get a HDD)

Any 4GB RAM stick or 8GB if you are a heavy browser

My Current Build:

CPU: Intel Core i5 4690K @ 4.5 GHz MOBO: ASUS Z97M mATX RAM: Samsung 8GB (2 x 4 GB) @ 1600 MHz Storage #1: Seagate Barracuda 1 TB HDD Storage #2: Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 120 GB SSD GPU: Gigabyte Radeon R9 280X WINDFORCE Case: Cooler Master N200 PSU: EVGA 80+ Bronze 600B 600W Monitor: AOC 2367 23" IPS Display

Future Upgrades
RAM: Samsung 8GB (2 x 4 GB) @ 1600 MHz (for a total of 16 GB) Storage #3: Sansung 850 Pro Series 256 GB SSD GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 970 Twin Frozer V Case: Corsair 350D Window mATX PSU: Cooler Master VSM 80+ Gold  650W

$400 isn't really doable then.

Heres what I would do:

Keeping in mind that a G3258 and no dedicated gpu will be bad for more demanding games, and a G3258 (in general) will be bad for any multi-tasking. The alternative would be to go with an AMD APU instead, however, for LoL a G3258 is perfectly fine since LoL isn't a gpu heavy game, therefore I would rather go with the better cpu.

How about a laptop? Something from this list may work, I personally suggest the top two choices. https://laptopninja.io/finding-the-best-laptops-under-400-dollars/

Desktop: i7-4790k, Samsung 840 EVO 250GB, Seagate Barracuda 3TB, 2xR9 290 Vapor-X's (1 working atm), Asus Z97-Pro, NZXT H440 White, 16GB G. Skill Sniper RAM, NZXT HALE V90 850W.

Laptop: Samsung Chromebook 11.6"

Phone: 8GB Galaxy S4

Ah, yes.

Get an OS on Reddit like @Octavialicious said for 10 bucks and get the Cooler Master Storm Devastator keyboard and mouse.

This is pretty good, I would get this but buy windows off reddit. Then use the saved cash to get better peripherals :)

Thats a pretty good idea too. I figured that she probably didnt need super good peripherals though if she is just doing league.
