What mousepad?

SirBobson

I have a Logitech g700s mouse and it doesn't sense very well on my desk, so I was wondering what mouse pad to buy? Don't have a fixed budget, but preferably something not too pricey. Thanks :)

I bought a steel series large mouse pad at a local best buy for 10$.

muh specs

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it.

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff.

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

qck+ is just bigger

Googled that for you. http://www.sk-gaming.com/forum/2-CounterStrike/2295673-QcK_or_QcK_heavy

Most prefer the Qck+ or heavy it seems.

and qck heavy is just fat

To be honnest, they are all the same, Corsair, Steelseries, ASUS... it's just the branding, eh :P

That's true. :D

But for me, nothing has beaten the thickness of the Heavy. Super comfy. Which is an odd thing to say for a pad.

Never used one so I don't know but from the pictures they all look the same. Some are cloth, some are plastic, but Corsair has this one!

You're paying for the branding, not the materials and quality. You can find decent cheap pads from no name brands.

I think that is a bit shortsighted. Different pads have different characteristics in terms of smoothness and tracking. I don't really care either and mostly look at the aesthetics of the pad. But I'm sure you would have a preference for one over the other if you would try different mousepads. I myself have three Qck mousepads in various sizes because it's the only decent plain one I can get in shops when I walk out my door :P Never bothered to order one online.

I am interested in one of those wider pads that can fit both a keyboard and your mouse. They look nice. Sadly there is only one size which is over 90cm wide(3ft) which is ridiculous since I have a 60% keyboard. I could cut it up though...

If one was $1 and the other was $19.99, I would always prefer the $1. The one I'm using was around $3-$5. Has no branding at all on it but it has a nice rubber grip at the bottom and the top is smooth and easy to track on.

I have a weird taste for big mouse pad. I like to have my keyboard and mouse on the mouse pad. Started off with an ancient Barracuda mouse pad and recently moved on to goliathus extended.

To be frank, any mouse pad would work fine, but for me I really hate mouse pad that doesn't let my mouse glide across it. I once tried a mouse pad that has a some friction on it and my wrist really hated me for it especially when I'm playing MOBA games.
