Hey Could a few people put together a couple builds for that price,

a Intel + Nvidia build | 2200$

and a all AMD Build. (CPU + GPU) | 2200$

... Just to compare both builds with my friend.

No Monitor or Keyboard / Mouse needed.

Able to push 144hz monitor @ 1080p (2 monitors)

Video editing as well.

Thanks!

At this budget, don't have your friend go with AMD. The budget is high enough that there's not need for the lacking performance.

This is fine, but he'll  be video editing, so trade the 980's for 970's and upgrade the i5 to an i7 4790K.

My arsenal: i7-9700k Gaming Rig, an iPhone, and Stupidity.

As powerful as the 290Xs are, no card can push 8GB of VRAM to full extent at this point in time, so those aren't as they are cracked up to be.  4GB would be fine though.

Also, the FX-9000 series are serious monsters in terms of heat and power consumption, and for the price Intel processors would be more appropriate.  The AMD would bottleneck the two 290Xs.

Don't get me wrong, I have an APU and a 7950, but there are better alternatives, especially with a budget as huge as over 2 grand.

Hey, I was just skimming over some of the other post topics in the new build forum and came across this. I actually have a topic post where I am planning my build for a price range of about $1500-$2000, you can find the forum post here ( http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/289651-my-first-build-looking-for-constructive-criticism/ ) and I am currently looking at a price point roughly around $1800 for most of the parts I am getting, including a capture card, WiFi adapter, ultrawide monitor, and keyboard. Some of my more expensive build consideration went close to $2000 without the wifi and capture parts and could go higher with more powerful components if you are planning a higher price range than mine at $2200 and less peripherals and extra bits.

I have a few questions first:

have you considered X99 with a 6 core CPU and DDR4 memory? (I was recommended to look into this and it gets a little too much for my price range but it could certainly fit yours)

What kind of GPU power are you looking for? do you prefer SLI/crossfire vs a more powerful single card, or not even have a preference?

What kind of form factor are you looking for? regular ATX or are you looking for more of a compact computer?

What kind of programs and games do you intend to use?

Do you want to OC right away/in the future?

Do you want to record your gameplay? (do you need peripherals for recording like a camera?)

How much storage do you think you might need and would you prefer a large SSD and reasonable HDD or a smaller SSD and a faster and more reliable HDD?

Do you care about color coordination? which colors do you prefer?

Here is a build I put together that peaks at 2000 for my preferences. It has a monitor and keyboard with it so what can be done is drop the unwanted items and up the value of the others, like maybe change to a preferred case, up the RAM size or speed, add more hard drive space, add more or different GPUs. For this I was going for a blue/white/black color scheme.
