Will I be able to use a 770?

HeyLookItsRed

So my current build has a Corsair 430w PSU, 4.2ghz G3258, r9 270x, 8gb RAM, 2 HDD & 1 SSD, msi-p33-h81m v2. My friend is selling me a Jetstream 770 for $100 .( http://www.amazon.co.uk/Palit-GeForce-Jetstream-Graphics-Express/dp/B00D3ZYDLQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1421595938&sr=1-1&keywords=jetstream+770 )

I was just wondering if I would need to upgrade my psu.

Thanks!

I think it will be enough since it only needs 230W

But better to get a new one

...Jetstream? Never heard of 'em. As for the wattage requirements, the 770 draws (at max) 250 watts. Get a new PSU and make sure it has a 6-pin and an 8-pin PCI connector. I reccomend the CX600M.

I can vouch for the CX600M - it's solid (despite claims about it not being made by the same OEM as Corsair's higher end series) and should happily run a 770, but I'd still be tempted to grab something made by XFX or Seasonic (directly or as OEM) simply because if you're going to the trouble of getting a PSU upgrade you might as well grab one that'll last that bit longer, has a higher efficiency (might even have a fanless mode at lower load) and has the capacity to run either a more powerful card or run SLI if you upgrade again.

CX600M FTW. It's sitting in my system and I freaking love it.
