I have had my PC for a while now and I'm thinking of getting a little upgrade soon.

From my specs, what do you think would be best to upgrade first?

CPU: i5-4690k @ 3.5
Mobo: ASRock z97 killer
GPU: EVGA GTX 770 super clocked

PSU: Antec High current gamer 620w 80+ bronze

RAM: Corsair Vengeance pro 8GB

Corsair H100i CPU cooler
Samsung 840 EVO 120GB

Seagate 1TB

NZXT H440 Red/Black

Gigabyte Aivia k8100 Red
Logitech G502
Samsung S23B350

Thanks.
Any questions, just ask!

Don't really mind what price, but mostly under 500-600 AU.
I would like a second monitor, or even a better one. GPU is okay but would like maybe an upgrade.
So its a toss up between those.

For how much do you want to upgrade?

Maybe GPU, maybe more RAM, probably a bigger SSD.

And how are your monitors? Maybe a second display, or a 144Hz display is cool

I would go get a newer GPU. It would most likely provide the most benefit to performance.

Yeah my monitor is okay but yeah i think a new one would be good.

What would you recommend for under 500AU?

How much is the GTX 970 in Australia?

Maybe just wait for the new AMD series and after that upgrade to a GTX 970.

As other users already said, we need to know what you use your PC for?

Gaming? Editing?

And what kind of monitor do you have now? Using 2 monitors is so good.. Maybe get a 1080p 144Hz display, if you play games at a very high framerate

Mostly Gaming and light photo editing.

I have a Samsung monitor i just picked up a few years ago. Its okay.

But i would like to play games at a higher framerate and better quality.

and for GTX 970s

$450 - gainward GTX 970

$550 Asus Strix GTX 970

and others and in between.

I'd go for the monitors, if you're not running anything above 1080p at the moment you should be able to just about max most things. You could get a sweet 144hz monitor and use your current one as a second monitor, I find it so hard to go without a second monitor on any pc now, it's a whole new ball game, get to watch twitch/netflix or even look up strategies and/walkthroughs in the current game you're in without having to tab out and remind yourself what the page says or something, if someone gave me 8 monitors I'd find a job for them all. I have 3 monitors at the moment and that's for surround with a 780ti and that's awesome, so maybe you could think about upgrading to a 970, getting 3 monitors and use them for surround, it's the best upgrade i've ever done, and I hear 970 SLI is very appealing, making me want to sell my 780ti and get 2 of those instead for the extra gb of VRAM, would help with the high 5760x1080 res. I think like everyone else has said; you would need to upgrade your PSU to ever go SLI. Hope this was some help to you

What PSUs would you suggest?

Coolermaster, corsair?

EVGA is a good PSU maker.

I don't think the Asus Strix 970 is the best, maybe take a look at the Gigabyte 970.

Also, if you do video editing, maybe an IPS display is great for you.

144Hz IPS displays don't exist, only really 60 Hz IPS displays exist, but the colors look a lot better on IPS. Especially for photo editing.

Sounds good.

Thing is my mobo only does crossfire, Not SLI. bummer :/

I would love to have 3 screens, 3 i think is a bit much but i would like 2. What are you using at the moment, 144hz? and are they any good?

I would also like to play at higher quality as well.

ah that sucks, I use a Asus Maximus IV and I just have 60hz 1080 AOC 21.5' all on a stand and they look beautiful, tiny bezels and I couldn't be more happier with my choice of monitor, AOC are a great company and make superb monitors, couldn't fault them quality wise, but if you don't have a set of pc speakers do not expect any good sound to come out of the monitors, they have built in speakers but I have no idea why they bothered, they are the worst thing I've ever heard, but quality wise they are absolutely fantastic

Why does everyone says that he does need to upgrade his psu? a 630W bronze can easily run 2 970 in sli...  cards are energy efficient today...

980 TDP= 165W

970 TDP= 145W

Don't upgrade you should be fine or place a extra 770 in sli your psu can handle it.

770 TDP= 230W

230*2=460 then you have still breathing room for 160W thats enough.....
