One CPU Core way hotter than others?

Hey guys, so one of my cores is way hotter than the other cores.

It's really weird, all the cores will bounce around 45-53, and the weird core does that too. But occasionally, that one odd core will bump up to 57-60 for a bit then come back down.

Any ideas?

It happens from time to time, nothing to really worry about (Is the one bouncing up Core #0 by any chance?)

Usually, it's quite odd. When playing minecraft Core 3 is the one getting hot, but on chrome Core 0 is a bit hotter. But it's only 3 C for Core 0, and that seems normal

My number 2 core does this as well sometimes I notice its in sync with the multiplier, so I have been thinking that its most likely caused by the CPU boosting the single core for a few seconds.

btw, what's a good application for temps? I want to see how much OC headroom I have

Also I approve of your new avatar

This could also by caused by uneven paste coverage (HIGHLY unlikely) or uneven CPU cooler mount (unlikely but happens from time to time).

Honestly I wouldn't worry since the temperatures are not even close to dangerous

Ok, in battlefield 3 one of the cores gets from 70-78. Is that normal for an H55?

Better than my H100i is doing.

Well the H55 is quite low end but that is pretty hot (My stock cooler 4790k doesn't even reach that high).

It's starting to look like 1 of the following:

- Very low RPM on the fan

- Bad mount

- Bad paste coverage or badly applied

- Pump on low RPM

Then you need to do something about that unless you got a pretty harsh OC

o, I think my Hyperborea fan is on super low rpm. Let me check

idk if I'm doing this right. So for my Pump, I set it to like 1x the PWM fan value per 1C

It was at .75 before, so now I think the pump is running at the normal speed
