Help with a Hyper 212 EVO CPU cooler
I have been picking my parts and learning how to build a computer for about a year and I came up with this build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/gzmnNG.
I suggested it to my parents and I got all the parts for my 14th birthday. So I was really happy to upgrade from a 2009 Macbook Pro as you might imagine. But I've had trouble with the retention plate sitting on the standoff's correctly. They are near the standoff holes by about half a centimeter. I have tried adjusting the screws on the retention plate but it still is a little off the standoff holes. I know this cooler is supposed to fit a variety of sockets (mine is LGA 1150) but I am hesitant to put on the thermal paste and try it before I know it is not defective and fits correctly. I don't know weather to try to make it work or not plz help
.
Keep trying. You will get it fit right. Watch videos if you need to. Reverse the legs and try the fit.
There is nothing wrong with an aftermarket cooler in a non-K CPU... open you mind, man.
