How big are your hands? Do you have any brand preferences?

I personally like the Droid Turbo, Moto X, Moto G, Samsung S5 (WITH STOCK ANDROID BECAUSE TOUCHWIZ EEZ DUMB) and the Note 4 if your hands are big enough (again, stock Android).

Also, @WoodenMarker, this belongs in Mobile Devices.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

The Nexus 5 is still a spectacular device, although lacking in the Camera and Speakers departments.

No such thing as "normal" hands. Check the mouse thread in my sig for info about how I measure hand sizes as that can help dramatically. Someone with small hands should never buy, say, a OnePlus One.

In order of preference.

LG G3

Sony Xperia Z3

HTC One M8

Nexus 5

OnePlus One (or Two if it's available when you purchase though when is uncertain)

Motorola Moto X 2014

Motorola Moto G 2014 (Loving mine so far besides it having a scratch on the screen, I'll review it next week after about 3 weeks of owning it)

Motorola Moto E (If you can't afford the above, though I'd say you'd be better off going with the G unless you really can not afford it.)

Medium hand size, i think i would be fine with any size phone, i like holding a phone with two hands when operating so i think size isnt an issue :D

If you can find a Moto G (meaning you don't care about the camera) then you will be more than happy!

Also, feel phones in the hand too - don't simply take my or other people's word for it. Many issues with things like the phone's OS that people complain about it simply solved through installing a good, solid version of Android (stock and Cyanogenmod are my favorites and seem to be the *generally* most reliable and fastest) and taking care of your phone. Try holding other people's phones in your hand too. I thought I would hate the hugeness of the Droid Turbo until I felt it in my hand because it was so damn comfortable to hold. You may find that you really like small phones like the Z3 Compact. Ya never know.

That said, a safe bet would usually be the Moto G.

I would suggest looking at the Lumia range if your the type that simply wants a fast sexy looking phone.

Windows phone is pretty much dead by now imo. There are barely any new devices apart from the Lumia line-up. The app market is a mess and ms refused to remove scam apps for the longest time. The only scenario where I would buy a Windows phone is for traveling, which I did for exactly two reasons. WP handles dual-sim really well compared to android and it has offline navigation.
