I have a P8Z77-V LX motherboard and I might be getting a 290/290x. My motherboard is broken so I dont know is it worth to get a motherboard with a diffrent socket and a new processor or go with the same socket and get a processor with that socket. I have a Intel i7 2600k atm. My question is, is there any good motherboards and processors with that lga1155 or is it time to get a new motherboard and processor with a diffrent socket

It's not like a 2600k is slow, I would suggest finding a used Z77 board for a reasonable price rather than replacing a perfectly good CPU.

The 2600k still is baller. I would rather keep it and do this ^^ instead of spending more in LGA1150

theres no reason to, the OP also wouldn't gtet much for their i7 because few ppl are looking for sandy chips and even if they are they will only pay decently if the chip is well binned.

But the problem is that i want to water cool... If i ever want to get a new cpu, i would have to get a diffrent socket i think. My question now is: is there a better cpu and motherboard with that socket? Will i have room to expand in about 1 or 2 years?

That CPU is still plenty strong and you can squeeze another 2 years out of it most likely.  It wont bottleneck, so that isn't an issue.

Its up to you if you want to either buy a new motherboard for your already working and good CPU, or if you want to make a switch to a more modern LGA1150 motherboard and processor that will be more expensive while providing basically no performance gains.

The 2600k is fine, save the money and buy a nice board.
