Hands up mechanic

Greetings,

Today,I was in the shower thinking about star citizen.I imagined myself as a pirate,flying through the cosmos when suddenly a huge cargo ship comes by,Then I decided to attack it with my org.My buddys were shooting it and I was boarding it,when I entered the ship I screamed "HANDS UP" and then I thought well what a great idea,If there will be a hands up mechanic in star citizen then it would great.If you put your hands up then it could take a lot of time to switch to your weapons,maybe 2-3 seconds.It would be great for pirates and the one being looted as the pirates won't have to kill him to be sure that he doesn't shoot their head off while they are busy raiding.

So guys what do you think about this mechanic?Please share your thoughts below.

As this game had a kind of a permadeath, having weapons is not always the solution. Maybe sometimes it will be better to let go of the cargo (especially if it's insured) and save your live and ship.

Judging by other games where forcing people to surrender and robbing them is an option, such as EVE online, the pirates will likely shoot you afterwards anyway, just for kicks. 

 

Being an a-hole is part of a real-life pirate's job description. But there is something about a consequence-free environment that just tends to bring out decent people's inner a-hole too.

This would be a great idea. I plan on playing as a criminal as well, and I didn't think on adding surrendering to my boarding plan

You won't be able to board without permission unless you somehow disable the spacecraft. Shoot it's engines and disable it's guns entirely sort of thing.

um...There is something called Hacking the Door, its a Thing

Then you just "sneak" in and do whatever. You could also ship yourself in trough a crate box or cargo container. if your lucky the crew wont double check the stuff before loading it in.

Maybe that would work on Capital class but something like a constellation is what I am thinking of. It would be hard to get close while it still can move/has functioning guns.

If they cant see you its not an issue. there is equipment for the job available.

 

Also..suckerpunsh guns...knock out the ship´s power, fly close. drop a dude or two, fly away.. wait 30 min...start mission = Profit....TRUST ME im a Pro! i´ll even steal Your Aurora, your lunch and leave you speechless.
