Hi guys, I recently bought a PowerColor HD 6850 GPU, and I am using it alongside my A6-6400K APU. I expected a huge jump in fps due to the GPU, but to my surprise its not any better than it was before. I'm still getting 30 to 50 fps, less than 40 average (everything is set to the minimal setting except Shadow Quality which is set to Low, and the resolution is 1024x768 stretched). Am I doing something wrong, or is the APU just not strong enough to run the game at decent framerates, and if it is not, how good would the Athlon X4 860K be?

Rest of my specs:

Motherboard: GA-F2A88XM-D3H (3.0)

BIOS Ver: F1

GPU: PowerColor HD 6850

APU: AMD A6-6400K

Operation System: Win 8.1 64-bit

Power Supply: 500W

Memory: Exceleram 1333Mhz

Size: 2x2 gb

your cpu is killing your fps. athlon is just as shitty, maybe with OC it would help.

@Wreighn

Just making sure you did move the cable (DVI, HDMI or whatever you use) from the motherboard to the graphics card right?

Your cpu is holding you back

Did you plug it in to the gpu and update the drivers?

I plugged in my DVI cable into the dedicated GPU.

Okay just making sure

Anyway try downloading DDU (http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html) and download the latest drivers from AMD. Then use DDU to remove ALL AMD drivers (No need to do this in safe mode, I didn't and it worked flawlessly) then restart your PC and reinstall the latest AMD drivers. That could help.

Otherwise it's a CPU bottleneck

Nope they aren't shitty, the 750K and 860K are amazing.

I think I'm getting a 860K, it appears to be quite a bit better and just 10 eur more expensive :)

860K is the best CPU for my board right?

Does your motherboard have FM2+ socket ?
