I really wonder how open the platforms for cars will be. It would be awesome to install custom skins on top of whatever the manufacturer gave you.

I wouldn't want my speedometer or entire car to shut down due to a chip failure

lol I work in a factory that makes little lights to illuminate your roof and foot wells in ford cars and the solder joints are inspected to the same standard as life support systems. This will be inspected to that standard or else it can't be in a car. These are class 3 (highest level) products while our electronics in our computers are only class 1

I would actually like a new tegra note, that thing was awesome for the price.

I wonder if this chip could be in a laptop, could you imagine this in a cheap laptop with 4gb of ram and a 50gb hdd, CHEAP GAMING LAPTOPS COULD BE A THING!!!!!!!

I've been waiting for this... pretty much half a gtx 750 downclocked in a mobile chip... Awesome :DDDD

Edit: 20nm or it didn't happen.

Nvidia makes some great stuff in the GPU space but historically their SoCs were not up to par to the Exynos and Apple SoCs.

Hopefully they can turn it around with this!

Notice there were no CPU benchmarks, only GPU. This is equivalent to a current Gen Snapdragon chip but with Nvidia's GPU.
