The 7870 GHz Edition is still a fairly good card, being sold now as the R9 270X. Do you think you need an upgrade? If so, consider the R9 290 or GTX 970.

What are the rest of your system specs, and what resolution do you play at?

Do games run well enough for you? if no, stop. If yes, go on.

Do you have enough money for a gtx 970? if no, stop. If yes, go on.

Why not a 290 or 280X

Don't put this in troubleshooting. Graphics Cards is a more appropriate place for this. Don't create a new thread, mods will move it shortly.

Also, just get a 280x/290.

Ninja'd :(

He has that card right now, he isn't buying it.

Get a GTX 760 or an R9-280 instead, although the 7870 is fairly good, it's a bit of an old fella
