hey I got a gtx 970 for christmas but my cpu is a little slow (Athlon x4 760k), I have ~ $320 to spend on a new cpu and mobo. I can afford a 4690k but I wouldn't be able to get a z87 mobo to overclock, so should I not get it? are there better options, I just don't want to skimp. thanks

You can get a 4690k and mobo for under $320. If you aren't in the USA, you need to specify that.

Perfect. The best i5 really if you are not going to overclock.

Why would you put that? that motherboard won't support overclocking and you can get a better one for the same price (or a significantly better one for $1 more). He can afford a 4690k in his budget, so you should have put that.
