I'm going to be building a gaming PC soon, and I'm coming from an ultrabook, which I'm used to turning on only when I need it. Just wondering if I can leave a gaming PC on 24/7, with it in sleep mode when not in use or something like that. Would a AIO liquid cooler change anything?

I would not leave liquid cooler on 24/7 because I am paranoid, orther than that I leave my pc on for weeks.

MY PC is plugged into the stereo in the house as well so when It's not used for gaming it's a very big Radio. I don't think i've turned it off since 2014 :P

I don't pay the electricity in my apartment so leaving a pc on all the time is fine.  Also there are idling/power saving features with pcs these days that help too that some people use. 

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S

I leave mine on 24/7 for the past 2 months thus far unless I have a reason to restart. For instance display driver crashes from overclocking .... or to clean out the dust from fans and rearrange my case airflow every once in a while because I am just bored XP

 

I don't pay for the electricity where I live so I kind of just leave it going. If something fails then it's a good reason to upgrade. I'm always looking for excuses to upgrade lol

Yep, just don't forget to take it off Power Saving and put it back to High Performance. I was wondering why I had 20-30 fps in League.

I used to turn off my computer all the time when I was at work and were asleep. But I have been using it for Folding at Home for the past two weeks, so it has been working 24/7 during that time.

My general rule is what I mentioned above though. If you're away from the computer for hours on end. Then you might as well turn it off, or at least put it into sleep.
