I state that i won't overclock.

With that being said which one should I get?

If you are not OCing... Galax HOF. It's a total waste of money, but it's the strongest card you can get. Or Zotac AMP! Extreme. Again, a total waste of money, plus it's not a very good card, but hey, if you can't find Galax, this should be easier.

My Asus Strix seems really nice. Someone on here told me it's the best one to get if you don't plan on overclocking the GPU.

 

It is very quiet, build quality seems superb, and the packaging was probably overkill.

Ketchup is better than mustard.

GUI is better than Command Line Interface.

Dubs are better than subs

I'm loving my Nvidia Reference 970. If you want a card that looks beautiful, and performs well, without any crazy aftermarket Overclocks and Heatsinks, this is a good one for you.

Non of them are really better or worse then others. The G1 gaming has 3 fans, backplate, and higher clock speeds. It does come in at a higher price though. The Strix is quiet has a backplate but might perform 4 FPS worse then the G1. The MSI doesn't have a backplate but does have 4 heat pipes and a cooler looking shroud. It is cheaper but again will perform the same as the strix. They are all very close to each other in performance but the G1 has the biggest gap.

I'm loving my Nvidia Reference 970. If you want a card that looks beautiful, and performs well, without any crazy aftermarket Overclocks and Heatsinks, this is a good one for you.

Well all non reference card are almost the same in temps with just slight differences and some non reference has some slight advantage to some other non reference as well as slight disadvantage.

 

So I guess the choice will be according to looks and how it will fit to your setup and also budget because some non reference is a little bit expensive that the others.

 

 

But I might be wrong.

Regarding the G1: I'll be honest, the price they ask for a backplate, blue led, and a factory OC (that you'll override anyway) is just absurd. If you are determined to get the G1, you might as well just get the regular windforce edition and save yourself some nice money.

 

Onto the strix: overpriced. They ask for a crapton of money, and what do you get: less OC than other brands, higher temp than SOME other brands (Msi, Gigabyte and EVGA), and -supposedly- the most quiet card. Oh yeah? Look at this source here, it might shock you. And even if it was all within margin of error, the MSI Gaming 4G is just as quiet, while costing much less.

 

About EVGA: good brand. However, you are paying extra money (when compared to other brands) to gain a better customer service. Naturally, if you ever need it, they are just unbeatable at it; but most of the time, you might just never having to use it, so that is somewhat wasted money. And I find their coolers so ugly that it hurts, but that's me. Still, they offer bigger warranty than other brands, and they also cover you in overvolting and watercooling, something no one else provides.

 

Don't buy Craptac (my special way for calling Zotac). It's crap. Their regular version is hotter than reference, and their AMP! cards can't OC. Yea.....

 

Speaking of MSI: That's the "joker of all subjects, master of none" card. It doesn't get 1st place in any particular category: silence, OC, temps, etc. BUUUUT, it get's 2nd place in pretty much every single one of them at the same time. So it's the best "overall" card, suited for most people. Their only "flaw" is the red color scheme, which may not be of your liking. And if you prioritize one aspect over another (say... you want the absolute coolest card you can), this brand won't offer you what you want.

 

 

All of that said, assuming normal use, my recommendation is either the MSI Gaming 4g or the Gigabyte Windforce. If one is a lot cheaper than the other, get that. If they are just about the same price, you can choose based on looks and features, they are both worthy your money.

Gigabyte G1 is apparently the best GTX 970. Well actually, the best is the HOF by Galaxy, but that costs 480 dollars. The G1 gaming is pretty good, and I would also recommend the MSI Gaming 4G and Asus Strix GTX 970.

I personally own a MSI GeForce GTX 970 Gaming 4G, and I managed to get a pretty good overclock with it, I think. I have read a lot of great stuff about the Gigabyte G1 though. The reason I chose the MSI is because I got it for a very good price at the time. If you can afford the Gigabyte G1, I'd say go for it, as it has the best out of the box performance.

No, I don't own these cards (barring the Gigabyte Windforce, that one I actually do). But, I read reviews about those cards, from multiple different sources.

 

Regarding the Strix VS MSI Gaming: 1 - 2 - 3, all of these sites tell me the MSI is superior. You said "Have a look at my channel"... and I DID! And even YOUR OWN TESTS show that the MSI is superior; not by much, but still superior in all the benchmarks. So yeah..... mistakes happen man, be careful!

I would say the Gigabyte G1 gaming. The blue isn't to bad in most systems and the LED is changeable if you are REALLY handy with a soldering iron. Plus EK has water blocks for it so extra bonus if you want to go overkill and water cool.

Actually no. If you want to go watercooling, EVGA is just king. Not only the waterblocks are easier to find, EVGA's warranty also covers you if something goes wrong; a feat that no other brand has.

If you are not OCing... Galax HOF. It's a total waste of money, but it's the strongest card you can get. Or Zotac AMP! Extreme. Again, a total waste of money, plus it's not a very good card, but hey, if you can't find Galax, this should be easier.

You didn't do a direct comparison. I picked the results from the Asus VS Gigabyte 970, and MSI 970 VS 780, and they prove my point.

With the 970 strix and 970 gaming 4G I didnt make a video but I did still compare them and the conclusion was the same.

My advice is still, buy the cheapest one, unless the G1 Gaming is within a $30 price gap, then consider paying extra for it cause its fantastic, otherwise, buy the cheapest, the differences are marginal.
