Those prices... I sincerely feel bad for Australians. On a sale, the 8350 can be had for $130 USD. Anywho, when using "In Gaming" intel easily reigns supreme with their current CPU's, given the fact that AMD's FX series is quite old by todays standards, and their single threaded performance is not on par with intel's. Not only that, AM3 is a dying socket, and socket1150 is still going to continue with Broadwell. Would be wiser to invest in a socket with a longer lifespan.

wrong subforum and not a good topic to choose, linus did a 3 or 4 part gaming showdown between the two I'd suggest you find those :)

AMD chips are adequate but intel is stronger overall, if you end up going with the 8xxx chip get the 8320 instead as there is little difference between the two and it's cheaper.

im wanted to go with intel but for the price of amd processors i might aswell have a look at them

what a about a AMD FX-6300 6 Core Black Edition Processor ($135.00)

The 4300, 6300, 8300 and most of those 20/50 and such have about the same single core performance.

For games that only uses 4 cores the 4300 would be as good as a 8350 for example.

If there isnt any overclocking involved i would say Never go for AMD for Gaming.

Unless you're on a tight budget, Intel. Even the lower priced Intel Processor would be better than anything from AMD these days... they just haven't been keeping up on the CPU side of things.
