AVG myself, although they've been getting more and more annoying lately, might switch to Avast or just the occasional malwarebytes scan...

Malwarebytes pro and Microsoft EMET.  Oh, and Sandboxie.

Just an FYI, EMET isn't required anymore, as it was a hotfix only and got patched in (Assuming you're using Windows 7 that is fully up to date).

I know, but it still adds protection from exploits because while Windows includes DEP, it doesn't run by default and EMET has other anti-exploit features.  And your right, its absolutely not required.  I use it anyways.

Windows Defender(Security Essentials), Malware Bytes(free version), and Avast, but that's rare.

Avast right now. Sometimes I use Malwarebytes to check for stuff that Avast might have missed.

Something, something, something, famous quote, computer specs, and stuff...

AVG (Free, 2014 or 2015) and common sense, really all I have AVG for is just in the unlikely event something were to happen. I have weekly scans though usually it finds nothing.

My dad swears by Norton 360 and I've never had any problems with it when I turned the boot protection (makes boots slow) off. I don't use it since I upgraded to W8.1 because I CBF.

Norton has gotten a lot of flack in the past because their software used to be pieces of shit that were worse then virus infections.

But that started to change about 5-6 years ago. Ever since their 2010/2011 products started arriving, they've made a huge change. Their software runs fairly well, and doesn't hog too many resources.

Sure it's not the best. But it's still a reasonable choice IF you're going to go for a paid AV solution. I personally would recommend Kaspersky as my Paid solution of choice, but if you happen to get Norton 360 on a good deal (Often can be had for $30 for 3 devices for 1-year), then it's pretty reasonable.

MBAM for a monthly check.

I use a Lenovo T440: i5 4300U, 8GB RAM, 128GB Samsung 840 Evo, 14" 900p display and an external 23" 1080p passive 3D monitor. Extended 6-cell battery with internal 3-cell. Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (I only use open-source software -- haven't paid for a single program yet).

Is it worth getting Anti-Malware or is Anti-Virus enough?

Malwarebytes has a free version for just manual scanning and removal. It's labeled as Anti-Malware because it handles a lot more than your standard Anti-Virus. If you run something else already it wouldn't hurt to install Malwarebytes free and run a scan every so often to make sure your current protection isn't leaving anything behind. Personally Malwarebytes Pro is the only active protection that I will use if and when I run Windows. Other than that I usually run no protection at all. Tho now I run Linux as my daily driver so I need not worry about all of that.

Anti-virus does real-time scanning, so malware scans aren't really as good as an active antivirus.
