Using any adapter will not only limit you to the quality of the worst cable (in this case VGA) but it will also reduce the quality of the image passing through it due to active conversion from analogue to digital.

 

Aka unless you can have HDMI or DP end-to-end, just leave VGA as it is.

Hey guys. I just got a monitor for the computer that I just built. This was my first computer. The monitor is analog and has a a VGA connector. My graphics card though has DVI, HDMI, and DisplayPort. I found a VGA to DVI adapter but I guess my question is this. Does having the adapter give me the benefits DVI? Or am I still limited? If I do get the benefits, I think I would be better off going with a DiplayPort adapter. Thanks for your help guys!
