Hello, I am currently having a problem with my new pc build. Every time I restart the computer it hangs and will not go in to windows. It just sits on with fans spinning doing nothing. Not even launching into bios.

Could this be because of hardware? Something that is loose? The PC boots perfectly from start and has windows installed.

Notes: While we were installing windows on the computer it had the same problems. So when windows required a restart at all in the process it would hang and we would have to shut it off and start it up manually.

Does anybody know if this could be the problem leaving windows permanently corrupt so it could not restart properly? Or anything else that could be the cause of this problem? Any help is appreciated thanks guys.

Do you have anything overclocked? Have you tried resetting CMOS?

Resetting CMOS? would this be pushing the CMOS button and clearing it? I will give that a try.

Check the BIOS for ACPI and make sure any relevant options are enabled.

Open Device Manager and you should see ACPI PC in the Computer tab, if not then ACPI is not working.

I checked the Bios and ACPI was turned on but not auto. Then i went in to windows and checked for acpi in device manager and it was there and looking good.
