soundblaster zx feedback please

Looking at getting new soundcard and looking at soundblaster zx and wanted feedback from people who have it. I currently have soundblaster xfi titanium and just leave it on game mode and adjust bass and treble in windows setting. From research looks like the tone setting is gone in properties of sound in windows for the Zx card. I need help if card is worth purchasing. Forgive typos using phone to post.

Unless you are getting the zx for less than $80, I would look elsewhere.  I have the "z".  The amp on it is legit, however, creative doesn't support linux, and my bluetooth audio is *almost as good.  Soundcards have their merits, but creative just doesn't support the product like they should.

Also, the red light on the card is silly.

Does the Xonar allow Tone control in windows audio setting? I appreciate your reply.

only creative sound cards have hardware based tone control, but the xonar has a full 8 band equalizer

Honestly the x-fi titanium you already have is probably better than the zx.  That being said, the Zx was pretty good for me when I used it.  I didn't remove it when I gave my cousin my old pc so now I'm just using onboard sound.  If you're in need of a soundcard then go for it.  If nothing is wrong with your titanium then I say stay with it.

Sorry took so long to reply been very busy with work. I ended up going with the Soundblaster Zx card and am very pleased with it. It does not have tone control however but that is ok I can live without it. I ended up upgrading as I am building my Nephew his first gaming PC so I was using the X-fi soundcard for his build so I wanted to get myself newer one. Thanks again for all feedback guys.

Wow how did this thread get so lost? I'm sorry but sound cards are bad especially creatives Z line since the output impedance of it is through the roof. Read the FAQ if you want more information about output impedance. External dac/amps is what we usually recommend and that's only if the onboard is bad or not strong enough to handle your headphones which is unlikely. Onboard is generally better than sound cards and it is free.
