CPU:GPU:MOBO Ratio

Hey guys!

Quick question, what would you say the ratio in price should be between CPU, graphics card and motherboard when buying parts?, or if prices should just be random with what you need

My Rig:

PS4

for every dollar you spend on the mobo, spend 2 on the CPU and 3 on the GPU. Just a very rough guideline to follow for general PC building :)

Mfg/model number: Clevo/W355SSQ | CPU: Intel i7 4710MQ @3.5GHz  | MOBO: W35xSS_370SS, HM87 Chipset | RAM: 16GB (2x8) dual channel Crucial Ballistix DDR3 @1866MHz | GPU: GTX860m 2GB Gddr5 | Battery: 76,960mW/h 8 Cell battery, 3 Hrs full on a full charge | Storage: 1x 128GB Samsung 840 pro SSD for the OS. 1x WD Red 1TB HDD For storage and games | Displays: 1x 15.6" 1080p LCD | Keyboard: Full 103 key back-lit keyboard | Mouse: Logitech M510 | OS: Win 10 Pro 64 bit |

What @Paul_VB said, but if you're gonna use your pc almost completely for gaming probably 3.4ish on gpu

If you have a budget build with a g3258, you want to spend almost that much on a motherboard. A better gpu is good, but it depends on your budget. Another example of close pricing is using a 5820k, you want to spend 2/3 as much on the motherboard as the cpu.

You're gonna wanna spend most on the GPU, then CPU and least on the mobo since theres usually no significant performance difference between a 150 and a 300 usd mobo.
