I hate any software that ask you to change the defaults on your web browser, like it's the only right thing to do. Less techie people will surely fall for that and ended up having crap load of useless toolbars,stupid search engine defaults etc.

Take your choice pay for software or uncheck a few boxes.

Running any version of Windows is like running through a mine field. You eventually step on a few and hope they don't blow up in your face. Most public threats are handled by protection. Tho when it comes to custom Malware, Windows and it's protection suites just don't stand a chance. It's by far the easiest operating system on the market to infect protected or not.
