Hey guys I know this isn't much of a hardware or software question but I wanted to ask a few questions.

1. What was your first game you played with KB+M ?

2. I never played ANY game with KB+M what do you think is a good game to start on ?

3. Is my KB+M good enough for propper PC KB+M gaming? It's the CMStorm bundle with Devestator mouse. I will link this Here>  http://www.amazon.com/CM-Storm-Devastator-Keyboard-Edition/dp/B00DKXXAAQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1418022691&sr=8-1&keywords=CMSTORM

1. My first game was a game of BF3 MP.

2. I would start with a first person shooter, For BF4 I use 28% Sensitivity in game and I use 2220 DPI, Although I started with 1800 DPI. You can pickup Medal of Honor Warfighter for PC on Origin for 3 bucks! The game it self is fantastic! There's always at least one server full of people.

3. That M&K Should be fine.

  1. Can't remember, probably Pajama Sam or something (if that counts)

You should definitely practice with some first person games, shooters especially

2. Start with something easy, like Titanfall.

2. Counter-Strike

Titanfall, Counter strike, BF4 .. Lol Thats a huge range in prices and Competitive.  Titanfall is really fun I loved it on XB1, I can't really afford it right now though.  I own BF3 for free from origin as well as I bet theres something on steam that would work. I try to avoid Counter strike and BF and a lot of the PC heavy elitist FPS games cause it seems like I'm going to hate myself when I first start playing with such a large skill gap.

-OP-

1. Back in the day it was Roller Coaster Tycoon, but I spent many years as a console peasant, so I guess a real/modern game would be COD MW2.

2. Anything but racing games. Racing games are just terrible on KB and mouse. FPS, RPG, and RTS games work good with KB and MS. If you want to learn about how DPI(sensitivity/speed) affects things, FPS  is really good because sensitivity/speed plays such a big role.

3. Can't open the link :( but I recommend getting a good mouse for starting. Mechanical keyboards are nice, but they aren't really needed. Mice on the other hand can hold you back(not enough speed, accuracy, buttons, etc.), so this is just something to consider when looking.

I remember first I played with only kb, but with mouse too... Its either Delta Force or CS1.5. Unreal Tournament quickly after that and BF1942.

If you like FPS games I suggest TF2. Its free and rather slow paced. Its easiest to learn basic movement. Aiming is another matter. I used to play aim_maps in CS to get mine working. BF-series is ok, but I wouldn't suggest it as first game unless you have familiar with it already. In that sense CoD is better as you can achieve more with just spraying and praying.

Other games are any Action-RPGs like Diablo3, Torchlight and Path to Exile. Any RTS like SC2, Age of Empires, Company of Heroes. Most platformers too. Something like Trine 2 is nice for learning mouse+kb combination.

Well... Mine is based on what devs say they are. You can check on Wikipedia etc. but in general you are more correct. Though I don't think Skyrim as Action. Witcher is more Action imo. (Note: Never played them myself ;))

1. Red Alert 2

2. I'd suggest TF2 as it is free and easy to get the hang of.

3. I started playing with a standard Dell keyboard and Logitech mouse. You'll be fine

1. Counter Strike 1.3 (my 1st pc game also)

2. Try more casual shooters. The new Wolfenstein game looks like a good candidate.

3. Anything will do it just all depends on what is more comfortable for you. I would suggest to visit a store if you can so you can try them out.

"Graphics and gameplay are not mutually exclusive."

"Nvidia, AMD, Intel, or whatever company out there has only one end goal and that is PROFIT.

If you think these companies exist for any other reason you're gonna be disappointed my dear. CAVEAT EMPTOR"

My first game that used the mouse extensively in the way we do today was Unreal Tournament. Many (not all, I know) first-person shooters prior to that did not have a full 3D range of motion and so often used exclusively keyboard controls.

I think a single-player FPS game where you use the mouse to look around combined with WASD keys to move would be an excellent place to get a handle on it. This is one of the few places I'd actually recommend playing through a Call of Duty single player campaign. Make sure you are using the mouse for steering left and right, bind A and D to strafe. In my opinion and experience, this type of control will prepare you for most skill-based types of keyboard & mouse control in PC games.

1. Skyrim

2. A quicker paced FPS game, like titanfall or CS:GO, build your skills quicker than a slower game like Skyrim. but definitely an FPS.

3. That keyboard and mouse looks great, Mouse is largely a preference thing, so whatever you like (I have the Logitech G502 proteus core, fits my hand great and weighs a lot), and the keyboard, although not mechanical, will work fine for an introduction. If you fall in love with KB + Mouse (like I did, never switched back to a control), then you might want to get a mechanical keyboard, they are objectively better for gaming, and they keyswitch type you get is a preference thing is well. I'm typing this on a Corsair K65 RGB Cherry MX Red Keyboard http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Gaming-Mechanical-Keyboard-CH-9000068-NA/dp/B00N2ROO2S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1418147990&sr=8-1&keywords=corsair+k65+RGB (<--- That's the k70 with they num pad model, they only sell the K65 10-keyless model in best buy I think)
