I recommend you install all NECESSARY updates. Some are listed as optional, choose whichever you think as necessary for your system.

Are there any windows updates that I shouldn't install? (I.e. Bloatware?)

For example I don't understand what cumulative security update for Active x Killbits is

Nope, install everything. ActiveX is a plugin API for IE.

In fact, the security update for Active X Killbits is actually pretty important. Active X is notorious as an entry point for malware attacks. It's just as bad as Java.

 

The only things I would look out for are "Bing Search" or "Bing Desktop". Right click -> Hide
