There are a few great sims out there

Standard track racing: Assetto corsa

Rally: richard burns rally

Modding: Assetto corsa, Gtr 2, Race 07, Rfactor 1

Expensive sims: Raceroom racing experience, iracing

Sims which kinda died: Rfactor 2(Assetto stole its community)

Assetto corsa is pretty much the best sim and has a monster of a modding community

Iracing is apparently the best.

a few years back maybe, its bested by many games today however. Mainly because their type and friction model is outdated due to the old engine they use.

Im not sure if im into the whole track racing thing, never done it.

Dirt 3 is pretty fun with the rally type.

Not really sure what im into, only played dirt 3.

Any city type games, GTA V style type games, but just with the driving, my parents dont like the violnce of GTA v, and i want a more realisitic experience

modding keeps the age away especially for richard burns rally. I highly recommend assetto corsa, people have modded maps into it and one person is trying to port los santos into it.

All of these.

BTW, @spwath - if you're going to play any REAL racing simulators like Assetto or R3E, etc. make sure you turn off ALL the assists. IMO, it's no fun with all that stuff holding you back. ;)

Also, since you have a G27, make sure you race in full manual (with clutch and shifter). Real race cars aren't automatic and only some use the paddle shifters (F1, some rally cars and some GT/LeMans, touring cars).

Have fun. :)
