This is kind of like the time that someone pushed to turn 18th Street (an abandoned station on the IRT Lexington Av Line) into a bar, that got shot down fast.

The terminal is actually in great condition, the NYTM does tours to the terminal and it's structurally sound, the I-beams look great considering 116 years of being there. The BMT does some great construction.

If anybody's interested, here's some history on the trolley terminal.

Afterwards we can have some private time in SLS's bed too.

I bet im only $2.50 away from you :D :D xD

Fedex Ground must be on Horse back, It took 7 days to go 200 miles

116 year old underground structure, hmm that sounds "safe".

thick steel I-Beams, that's pretty safe

The steel I-beams that the BMT used are some of the best out there IMO.

They would have reviewed to ensure it meets current structural integrity standards.

Empire State Building - 85 years old - 103 floors

Flatiron Building - 112 years old - 21 floors

Metropolitan Life Tower - 105 years old - 50 floors

New York Times Building - 125 years old - 13 floors

All are still standing and operational today so I don't see why this underground park would have any issues. :)

The good thing about this trolley terminal is that very few people have tried to vandalize it since you have to jump off a crowded train platform, cross two live tracks with 625V of electricity and giant trains that can kill you easily.

There's nothing there but graffiti and signals that are in storage.

my biggest concern is the lighting. Fiber optic is clever but I don't think that's going to be enough for a bright and friendly environment. What I'm seeing here will only transfer lighting that strikes the surface of the solar collectors, but in surface parks we also have ambient and reflective light from multiple sources and directions for lots of natural illumination.

The supplemental artificial lighting shown to fix this issue is a poor color temperature and wouldn't make it feel natural.

Interesting. Considering the original purpose of the city parks, I wonder if this will have the same effect on people. I don't think it will though. Mainly because of the lack of fresh air and sunlight.

The stone cannot know why the chisel cleaves it; the iron cannot know why the fire scorches it. When thy life is cleft and scorched, when death and despair leap at thee, beat not thy breast and curse thy evil fate, but thank the Builder for the trials that shape thee.

Why underground? why not above the ground like on the roof of a not so tall broad skyscraper where there is fresh air and direct sunlight .
