Well this program is probably giving you the wrong reading, because 2.4GHz is wrong.

Try using CPU-Z and it should say 3.4GHz

That's weird...CPU-Z says 3331.06Mhz...Easy Tune 6 is the software made for my motherboard so I'm not sure why it would be incorrect -______-

So check this out:

Does this mean my CPU is only running at 2.4ghz? It's an Intel i7 980 so at stock is should be 3.33ghz...I am reading this right correct?

The CPU downlocks at idle.

BLCK x multiplier = 3.4GHz

 

Try running a stress test and then look at the frequency again.

use cpuz to check or windows 

System properties says 3.33 but Easy Tune 6 is for my motherboard, why would it be incorrect?

This is after about 2 minutes of running Prime95.

EasyTune 6 is terrible. Sauce: I own a Gigabyte motherboard and ET6 is easily the worst thing about it.

Can't wait till I upgrade and get an Asus motherboard...........the one I want is $100 right now $50 off on sale and the 4790k is $299 so I might get it before sales end here.

Gigabytes boards are fine. Their software just suck.
