Performance In DayZ Mod?

HowToGaming

Hey guys, just a small issue I have.

You can see my PC specs in my signature, and I was wondering, how come I get pretty horrible performance in DayZ (The Mod, not Standalone)

When I'm looking up at the sky, I get 50fps average, In the wilderness, I get around 40, and In cities, I get 30.

I have played Arma 2 A lot and that runs fine maxed out, so It must be a problem with DayZ

Any solutions, or is DayZ just a badly optimized mod?

DayZ is terribly optimised. The best thing to do is turn your graphics settings up because the ArmA engine tends to rely heavily on your CPU when you turn it down. Spreading the load by upping the graphics helps. But 30 fps in cities is considered very good loll...

It's just Arma II in general, poorly optimised. Nothing to do with your PC. Though I find if you spend a few hours tweaking it you can get it to run pretty smoothly.

in dayz since there's alot of gear etc in towns it bogs down machines.

dayz SA is built more on the arma 3 system that likes fast ram, but you will still need to muck around in your settings to find a happy spot.

for me I just play wasteland, seems to run better

Its all about those volumetric clouds
