PCIe slowdowns!

Go to solution Solved by SeanBond,

Si, I'm planning on getting  an R9 270, yet I only have a gen 2 x16 slot, will aforementioned card be slowed down if I use a last generation bus?

not even close. You can't even slow down 980's with gen 2.

My god, really?

Yeah, I would bring up another thread but the search engine isn't working. The site that I would love to show you did testing on it and found there is no difference between gen 2 and 3 in terms of game performance for any card they tested.

The only time(as of right now) that PCIe 3.0 would benefit you is in perhaps dual GPU cards.
