the torques solve into zero, so iirc it should be equal.

You have a Couple. If you resolve the vectors into component forces separately you see that the gravitational force pushing down on one mass is completely balanced by the force of gravity of the other mass opposing it. So the difference in the moments caused by the distance decrease shouldn't actually make a difference.

I could be wrong, I've not looked at this sort of problem in years.

So...B? Here goes nothing lol. Thanks for the help xD

thats the intuitive way. if you want, i can take some time later and solve it for arbitrary masses, but im like 95% sure its the same (currently studying physics, but its been a while since we did torque)

Are we assuming a frictionless bearing in the center of the axis of rotation?

Welp....they weren't equal to each other, thats a bummer.

holly s**t!!!! I'm gonna die if I'll have to study such things. Like literally. I have problems at math in the first year of high school

Good luck. It gets harder

The one on the right will reach the ground sooner due to the weights being closer to the center of rotation. The left requires more force to travel the same distance due to the weights being further from the center. Think of it like you are in a spinning chair. You rotate faster with your arms closer in than they do when they are further out. The gravity is still the same because you have not gained mass but due to the distance from the center of rotation has increased the object will take longer to move the same distance as the one with the weights closer to the center

I believe the name here is torque.

This can also be reviewed by looking as mpg and cars with larger rims. The rims May weight the same but the bigger rim requires more force to rotate.

I'm too dumb for school. Sometimes I feel like the only things I'm good at is gaming, eating, sleeping, wasting time, wasting money, doing pointelss things. :(

Eventually you will find something you are actually good at and you will have no problem doing it as your job. Keep in mind that everything is easier if you have faith in yourself. Get some education and then follow your dreams wherever they take you ;)

this. but its actually not torque (completly) its more about angular momentum (i think its called that in english) which varies with rotating distances

true. its been awhile since ive covered the topic so i am drawing a blank on some of these technical terms.

yeah its been a while for me as well. but from memory, it should be that. i think its something like int(M dr) or something like that
