Best network setup for a small business with multiple servers

TheBogger

Hello all I am starting a new business with my friend and we were looking at AT&T U-verse® High Speed Internet - Business Edition because they have the highest speed in our area. We were also wondering if we would be able to use a network switcher to separate all three lines that we could bring in to multiple server banks and a small wireless router.

Thx everyone!

That is not very good for hosting servers.  You can use network switchers though.

What kind of internal network needs do you have?

Will you be dealing with a SAN and working with large amounts of data, this will heavily impact which type of network you will ultimately need. (no need to go 10 GbE if all you are doing his sharing documents, and using web services while hosting a website.

If on the other hand, you are producing a lot of content, and need to be able to do stuff like dump raw 4K video onto the SAN, and have people edit the content over the network, then you are probably looking at 10 GbE. (will you have a large number of users on the LAN attempting to access a server or the SAN? )

Also what is your budget.

Budget is not an issue, there will be allot of internal network usage with high capacity files. We will need to be hosting several game servers for clients.
