How cold is to cold?

Go to solution Solved by Aetherslime,

Ok, so I think I just experienced the worst and maybe best part of having a self built computer... They are so random. I just turned on and of the PSU and it's working again O.o

I had my window open tonight and it was about 0C outside. Is that to cold? I'm asking because the power and reset button on my computer doesn't work. I used the computer two days ago. The power, reset and OC button on the motherboards LED is working but nothing happens when i push them. Anyone know what might have happend? The LED for the powerbutton on the case does not work.

Try shorting the switch pins? This is going to sound dumb but is the PC plugged in and the PSU switch on?

Would any LEDs work if there was no power?

The wording of the OP's a bit hard to understand.

If they work then there'll be other problems. It's probably not because of the cold then.

Check the front panel I/O and if it still doesn't work, do the usual (remove all components except the CPU, RAM, PSU and cooler, then try powering it on. This is to make sure it's not a GPU/RAM/expansion card/HDD shorting out the system)

Yeah, thats what i'm afraid has happend.

If your LEDs are on I think it should be okay, though....

Was the case closed?

Yeah, thats what i'm afraid has happend.

You can just use a hair dryer and heat your PC up a bit to evaporate the moisture. :P

And yeah, try by making sure the front panel connector sit where they belong and if that doesn't work, try by shorting the power button pins manually.

who cares...
