getting a new phone, can't really decide which to get right now. Keep in mind that if I get the nexus 6, I'll be getting it with a contract so it'll end up being around $200 upfront not $649. The 1+1 is $349. What are your thoughts? :)

$200 for a contract vs $350 outright? Definitely outright.

I'd go Nexus 6. Considering that the OnePlus will cost you a lot more than $350.

I'm in Canada and my provider gives reasonable plans when you BYOD. I don't understand what you mean by it will cost me more than $350 though?

Great amount of productivity gained by S-Pen

Samsung's Signature Smart Features

Has a Samsung logo on it (MUST HAVE FACTOR FOR ME)

Sigh... But I do...

It's definitely getting better,

It's nowhere near how Android was intended to be. Evidently it fractured it enough that Google felt the Nexus devices needed to become more streamline so they could say: "This is what Android is and was meant to be."

But does the average consumer care?

The Nexus line is only hyped by enthusiasts.

All my other friends would either use an iPhone (and I bother the shit out of them until they switch to a Galaxy and love me for it) or a Galaxy.

I've seen an HTC among my peers just one time.

$350 US + $27.99 US shipping = $377.99 US ~ $428 Canadian.

Add taxes and you're at $483.64 Canadian.

Well it's your money.

I already tried so... It seems like you already made up your mind.

On the serious note, I suggested the Nexus since it's

  1. Will get faster updates/support
  2. Like you said "it is how Android is meant to be"
  3. Better Customer support
  4. Better Brand Equity
  5. Newer Hardware

more like anyone at this point really..

I still see more Galaxy devices than I do Nexus (I know of 6 Nexus devices at my school; @PixelPips and I being two of them), 15ish HTC, assorted Galaxies: 20-30, rest are iPhones. Still, I hear more gripes over TouchWiz even while taking into account the larger count of them than I do any other brand / skin.
